Surf Lessons
Hatteras Island Boardsports is the #1 location on Hatteras Island to take a surf lesson plain and simple! Our instructors are surfers who know what it takes through years of experience. We have taught thousands of people the joy of gliding on the waves! There are many places to have a lesson but only one place to become a surfer. All lessons are 2 hours long and include the use of the surfboard for the duration of the lesson. If the water is a little chilly students will also be provided with a wetsuit for warmth. Group Surf Lessons
$80 per personGroup lessons are 1.5 - 2 hours of fun with one of our expert instructors! Do you have a group of 5 or more people wanting to learn how to surf? This type of lesson is for you! We limit group lessons to 5 students per instructor so that each person will receive plenty of individual attention. This lesson is ideal for the beginner. ** Do you have more than 5 people in your group? No problem, we can accomodate large private groups of 6+ students. The same Group Lesson pricing applies, we will simply add additional instructors depending on the size of your group so that everyone still gets plenty of personal attention. Semi-Private Lesson
$95 per personSemi-Private lessons are also 1.5 - 2 hours long, but you will have more individual attention with one of our instructors. Semi-Private lessons are made up of 2 to 4 people and perfect for couples & small family/friend groups who want to take a lesson with just their buddies & no strangers. Semi-Private lessons benefit those from the beginner level to advanced levels. So whether you are just learning how to catch a wave or need some more advanced instruction, our instructors can get you to the next level!

Private Lesson
$125 per personWant a surf lesson session that’s all about you? We get it, and we've got you covered! A one and a half to two hour private lesson will give you what you need to kick start your surfing career. Our instructors know what it takes to get you up and shredding whether you’re catching your first wave or working to perfect a skill that’s holding you up! We also recommend private lessons for younger kids who are interested in surf lessons, that way the instructor can give them their undivided attention.
